Today we celebrate the life of Bill Walberg and entrust him into the blessed rest of everlasting peace. Bill was an active member at Trondhjem serving on the church council, offering horseback rides at our Fall Festivals and speaking open and honestly to our confirmation students about drugs, alcohol and recovery. He will be missed. Please keep his family in your prayers as they mourn.
William Milo Walberg was born on September 3, 1959 in Alexandria, MN, the youngest child of George and Betty (Sliper) Walberg. He was raised in Nelson, MN on his parent’s dairy farm where he helped his family with the milking, farming and other chores throughout his childhood. Following school he moved to Wyoming and later Texas working in construction. He moved back to Minnesota to attend Bemidji State College where he graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Applied Psychology. He then began his career in chemical dependency in the Farmington and Hastings area, later to become the Executive Director of Lifestyle Counseling Services in Prior Lake. Bill was a chemical dependency counselor for 23 years before he retired in 2012. At the time of Bill’s death he had reached over 25 years of sobriety, over which time he shared his experience, strength and hope with many others. (more…)
