It looks like we are in for a cold, snowy winter this year. ( I thought this was going to be a mild one.. Guess I heard wrong.) This is the kind of winter where there are usually many injuries from falls on the ice, car accidents on slippery roads, and heart attacks from shoveling the heavy wet snow. Other illnesses flair up such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Raynaud’s Disease, Diabetes and lung diseases such as Asthma and Emphysema. (more…)
November is Mental Health Awareness month. Statistics show that 1 of every 5 people lives with depression, anxiety, bipolar, or Schizophrenia at some point in their lives, sometimes all of their lives. With the many stresses which we face in life -dealing with the failing economy, jobs, home and family issues, relationships, and health issues, at times it becomes overwhelming. Depression and other mental health illnesses are treatable. None of these problems are a sign of weakness. Reach out to people who can help you. Seek out friends and family members whom you are comfortable talking with. Your pastors are available and other professionals can also help. And don’t forget to reach out to our Creator, who knows how we are put together, and what we are trying to deal with. It is your choice to accept His help.
