What a beautiful evening for walk! Join the Trondhjem women at 7pm as we walk and talk and find out what it means to prayer walk. We’ll meet back at church for refreshments.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— 9 not the result of works, so that no one may boast. –Eph.2:8-9
Saturday January 28th 8am—4:30pm
Our guest speaker is Rev. Dr. Karoline Lewis (more…)
If you are an adult woman member of Trondhjem we consider you, invite you and encourage you to be involved in our women’s activities. We understand life is busy so don’t feel like it’s an all or nothing opportunity. Come when you can!
The women meet the third Tuesday during the months of May – September. The meeting is a time for fellowship with other women and a short Bible Study or a related topic of discussion. If we have an upcoming event we’ll discuss and finalize plans.
Our gatherings are very informal. We don’t have officers, or take minutes of our meetings. Basically it’s like getting together with your sisters or girlfriends. It’s a great way to meet and get better acquainted with women at Trondhjem.
Some of the regular service projects we do are:
· Periodically deep-clean the kitchen area
· Provide funeral luncheons
· Gather a Thankoffering which is forwarded to the Synod to help with programs for women and children in need
· Prayer Partner program (draw a name from those participating, pray for her throughout the year, then reveal yourself to her at the Christmas Party)
· Assist with the Prayer Garden
· Arrange for Sanctuary flowers for Christmas and Easter
· February Retreat
· Theology Uncorked—meet quarterly
In the past we’ve had Mother/Daughter Banquets, organized Craft Fairs and Taste Luncheons. We’ve held classes on knitting, felting, card stamping and jewelry making. We also had a wonderful hand waxing/massage evening.
We’d really enjoy seeing you at our meetings. Our first meeting in the Fall will be September 17th at 7:00.
7pm on Wednesday, August 28th
at Prairie Pond Vineyard and Winery
105 East Main Street
In case you missed it the first time, Theology Uncorked is a Trondhjem Women’s event held at the Prairie Pond Vineyard and Winery in New Prague. It’s an opportunity for women to get together and discuss theological topics.
We had wonderful conversations about prayer when we met in May. Our upcoming conversation will center around the biblical sisters, Mary and Martha. We will take a look at how we serve others and how we replenish our souls.
How and where is it important as women to serve at Trondhjem and in the world?
How do we as women, support one another? What can we do at Trondhjem to feed our spirituality?
Prairie Pond Vineyard and Winery have both a food and wine menu. You’re welcome to purchase supper along with the wine if you’d prefer. I’m sure they have ice water also, if you prefer that to wine.
All women are welcome! We need a count of how many are attending. Please contact the church office or post on facebook if you can attend. Phone: 744-2310; email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.” - Luke 10:38-42
Ice pellets turning to snow by evening. Looks like we will postpone the Women’s meeting this evening. Put it on your calendar for next Tuesday, April 23rd at 7pm. Stay safe and warm in your homes tonight!
Garden Produce/Flowers/Baked Goods
The Trondhjem Women’s Group will designate the month of September for a market to be held on Sunday mornings in an effort to raise funds for a new freezer for the church kitchen.
If you have extra bounty from your vegetable or flower garden that you would like to donate, or you love to bake please support this effort. We will have a table in the Fellowship Hall between worship services.
Please stop by this Sunday, check out the market and bring home some great fresh veggies, flowers and baked goods!
There is no Women of the ELCA meeting tonight. Though we expect as women we will be doing God’s work in our gardens, at work and with our friends and family throughout this summer. We look forward to gathering as a group in September!
