Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday Worship is this Wednesday evening, February 22nd at 7:00PM.

There will be no classes, choir or supper.

The Imposition of Ashes The seasons of the church year reflect differing thoughts and moods, as does life itself:  jubilant triumph, deep sorrow, quiet joy, eager expectation, and even normal, ordinary life and growth.  Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the season of Lent:  a time of contemplation—not morbid contemplation, but rather contemplation that prepares us better to anticipate the joy of Easter.  Ashes have long been a sign of sorrow for millennia, and there are numerous biblical examples of people covering themselves with ashes.  Abraham in prayer said to God, “I am nothing but dust and ashes” (Genesis 18:27), and God declared, “dust you are and to dust you will return” (Genesis 3:19).

Sunday School News

Thank you all for coming to our Christmas Program.  The children did an awesome job as always!  Many people flooded in the doors and filled the Sanctuary.  What a great show of love and support to our Sunday School children.  Several people commented how much they truly enjoyed watching our children tell the story of the first Christmas.  Many more left that evening with a warmth in their hearts.

We will be on break until Wednesday, January 4th and Sunday, January 8th.  We wish you all lots of love and many blessings in the new year.
