• What to Expect

All are warmly invited to join us in our life together at Trondhjem!

The rhythm of our life centers on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings with a variety of activities and events through the week and month.

Our worship is centered on the Bible story, prayer, music and the sacraments of communion and baptism.  Our style is modified traditional and liturgical.  We sing favorite hymns with a variety of other musical genres added in.

We are family friendly and we strive to involve children of all in ages in the worship experience.  Crying babies don’t bother us – they simply add to the joyful noise we offer up to God!

Opportunities to learn and grow in faith are offered for people of all ages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I come for worship?

Welcome! Come in the main entrance on the south side of the building which brings you right into our fellowship space. The worship space is through the double doors on the opposite side of this room. You will be greeted and given a bulletin by the ushers. Busy bags for your kids are in the back of the worship space.

What is the service like?

Our Sunday morning service is modified traditional. The service consists of liturgy, music, message and prayer. We sing a lot of hymns but include other types of music as well. We celebrate Holy Communion every week and all are welcome to the table! There are multiple points throughout the service for kids to be directly involved. We love having children in the worship service – even noisy ones! All are welcome!

Do I have to be Lutheran to worship at Trondhjem?

Just as Jesus welcomed all people into his love, we strive to follow that example. Regardless of what religious background you are – or lack of background – we hope you will find a place with us.

What should I wear?

Come as you are! Most people dress very casually.

Are there other activities on Sunday mornings?

Yes! Kids ages pre-K-4th grade are welcome to attend Step-in’ Out for activities while their adults are enjoying the sermon. No need to sign up ahead of time.

Grown-ups have the opportunity to enjoy some treats and time to visit with each other between services… we call this Happy Hour! All these activities focus on building relationships with each other.

How do I get my child baptized?

There are two initial steps to setting up a baptism. First, check in with the church office at 507-744-2310 to express your intent to have your child baptized. Second, schedule a time to talk about baptism with Pastor Sue. From there we will confirm a date, gather the necessary information and create the service order for your child’s special day.

What can I expect on Wednesday evenings?

Wednesday gatherings are busy, energetic and casual! You may join us for any part or all of the evening depending on your needs. There are activities for kids of all ages, with dinner and worship held on Wednesday a month.   See the Wednesday schedule here.

Confirmation is a key ministry that happens on Wednesday for 7th-10th graders. If you have a child in this age range and would like to know more about confirmation please contact Mary Miland or Pastor Sue Leibnitz.
